The Black Lives Matter movement has gained serious momentum as thousands across the nation protested the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, MN. George Floyd is the latest unarmed, black person to die at the hands of the police. This has been especially troubling considering the fact the much of America was under lockdown since mid-March due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Despite this fact, police officers were involved in over 400 shooting deaths, as of June 4, 2020 (Statista).
