With the summer months in full effect, I know many people, including myself are looking for quick and easy ways to shed weight and get closer to that coveted hour glass figure. On my quest to achieve a more a "snatched" waist, I decided that a body wrap was the way to go. I had always heard about companies that sold ready made body wraps but I didn't feel comfortable with shelling out a lot of money for a product that may or MAY NOT work. Because of this, I felt the urge to try to make my own body wrap... How hard could it be? DIRECTIONS I scoured the internet to find ingredients that promoted weight loss, that I could use for my body wrap. After careful consideration, I decided on the ingredients listed below ( links to the products mentioned will be included at the end of this post ): When I originally tried this recipe, I went a little overboard with the peppermint oil and it resulted in a strong tingling sensation. I have tweaked the recipe to av...
Just wanted to give you all a quick update on my fitness goals. As many of you have already read, I weighed a little more than 197 pounds at the beginning of my journey. Since then, I have been a bad girl, indulging in unhealthy foods as I celebrated my fiancé's birthday as well as my own. I spent an entire week (from July 15th - July 21st) binging on steak, pasta, fried foods, cake, ice cream, and the list goes on. Definitely not a great idea when you are trying to lose weight. I'm pretty sure my body hates me right now! Even after this gluttonous period I managed to drop a couple of pounds. I weighed myself this morning, and was so excited. I am down 3 pounds!!! Yay me! In order to reach my goal weight, I intend to be more disciplined. I am going to continue to workout 3-4 times a week but I am also going to increase the amount of time that I spend at the gym. The biggest struggle that I will focus on is watching what I eat and limiting my portions. S...
As my tag line suggests, I am all about loving and embracing your curves. I am in a place where I have accepted my perfectly imperfect body. This was years in the making, however. I didn't always feel confident in my own skin. Before I became pregnant with my daughter, I only weighed about 135 pounds. At the end of my pregnancy in 2010, I weighed a whopping 201 pounds. Ever since, I have struggled with maintaining my weight. My weight has ranged between 170 - 200 pounds from that point forward. I have cried, binged on food, exercised, cried some more, intermittently fasted, cried again, and so on. It didn't help that I had loved ones telling me how fat I had become. So my self-esteem was definitely lacking. I'm sure some of you curvy ladies can relate. It literally took me five years to accept that I had more curves than the average person and that I would probably never be as small as I once was. Although I have embraced every curve and roll that I have on my b...
Thickfitness Day 1: There's only so much that I can film without looking like a crazy person inside of Planet Fitness. Let's face it, I definitely didn't want to be judged in the so-called "Judgement Free Zone". Because of this, I refrained from recording everything. Anyway, please feel free to make suggestions on my regiment. Once arriving my routine included the following: Selfie - I strictly did this for research purposes. LOL Stretch 15 Minutes on the Elliptical: Average Speed-5.2 Arm Day: Lat Pull Down, Tricep Push Down, Chest Press, Seated Row . I did 3 sets of 10 I did a few ab machines... But not really LOL 15 Minutes on the Treadmill: Average speed- 4.5; incline- 1.5 Stretch My goal is to go to the gym at least 4 times a week, hopefully you all we help me to stick to this goal all Summer long. Have a great day! ...
As you can see from my previous posts, I love love love discussing my hair... unfortunately, I do not gain as much glee from discussing fitness. I am learning to talk more about fitness and health in order to speak my own personal fitness into existence. Since I am on Summer Vacation (and have nothing but time on my hands) I have made a commitment to stay focused on my expedition towards thick fitness. Thank goodness, I already have the necessary items in my fitness toolbox to keep me motivated, hydrated, and in style. For those of you that are interested in joining me on this lifelong path of thick fitness, please allow me to introduce you to Francesca ThickFit Starter Pack: Fitbit - I currently use the Fitbit Charge. I have been using a Fitbit since 2013 and I absolutely love it. If you haven't used a Fitbit you are missing out. This wearable keeps tracks of the time, your step count, your miles, calories burned, sleep patterns, and more. The Fitbit also has an app t...
